HISTORY
The history of Joieria Moner can not be told without knowing its beginnings. It all began in 1871, when a watchmaker known as Senyor Rosal founded a watch sales and repair shop at 16 Àngel Guimerà Street in Vilafranca (currently Carrer de la Parellada).
In Barcelona, twenty years later, in 1900, one of the first watch spare parts and repair workshops was opened, called Fornituras y Ferramentas Omegna, stood out for importing spare parts from Switzerland thanks to its founder, Filippo Omegna. Mr. Rosal regularly went there in search of parts for his business. Over time, a young man with a great passion for this world, Jaume Moner Pla, began working in the Omegna workshop as an apprentice. This event would mark the beginning of what is today the history of Joieria Moner.

The bond between Jaume Moner Pla and Filippo Omegna grew stronger, not only because of their professional relationship, but also because Jaume fell in love with Filippo's daughter, Laura, whom he would later marry.
At the same time, when Mr. Rosal saw that none of his children wanted to continue the family business, he decided to transfer it to a trusted person who wanted to preserve his legacy. The ideal candidate could not be other than the young Jaume Moner.
Without hesitation, in 1926, Jaume Moner and Laura Omegna moved to Vilafranca del Penedès to take over Mr. Rosal's jewelry store. With effort and dedication, they consolidated a loyal clientele and turned the establishment into a benchmark in the city and the region.

In 1934, the jewelry store was renovated, incorporating marble and brass decorations that gave it a modern and avant-garde atmosphere for the time. This transformation reflected the innovative spirit of the company, always at the forefront of trends and in constant evolution. After the Civil War, despite the difficulties, the Moner family remained faithful to its values and its commitment to quality and personalized attention to customers.
Jaume and Laura had two children, a boy and a girl. Their son, Jaume Moner Omegna, showed an interest in watchmaking from a young age, following in his father's footsteps. Over time, he married Asunción Llopart Batlle, who, with her dedication, good taste and innovative ideas, expanded the jewelry store's offering, introducing a modern and sophisticated label that would set the course of the establishment for the next forty years.

Jaume Moner Omegna and Asunción Llopart Batlle had an only daughter, Asunción Moner Llopart. Despite her passion for music, which led her to study and perform as a pianist throughout Europe, she grew up immersed in the world of jewelry and, finally, decided to dedicate herself to the family business.
With his artistic vision and creativity, he revitalized the establishment, giving it a renewed air without losing the essence that characterized it. Thus, in 1980, a second significant renovation was carried out, transforming the space to reflect a contemporary and innovative style, but always maintaining the personal and sophisticated stamp that defines Joieria Moner.
Years later, Asunción married Juan Soler, a physicist by profession, and they had a daughter, Gena Moner, who
From a young age, she was clear that she wanted to continue with the family business.

In 1999, the establishment was renovated to become larger and more modern.
With the incorporation of Gena Moner into the business —a graduate in Business Administration and Management from the Sarrià Chemical Institute and a gemologist from the University of Barcelona—, the store began to reorient itself towards luxury items, gaining recognition from prestigious international brands.
In 2007, the Moner family acquired the adjacent premises, expanding the space and improving the display of jewelry. This expansion reaffirmed Moner's commitment to elegance and quality, offering its customers an even more exclusive shopping experience, without losing the original essence of the establishment.

In 2013, the Generalitat de Catalunya awarded Joieria Moner the Centennial Commercial Establishment award. With more than 100 years of history and dedication, this recognition underlined the jewelry store's commitment to elegance, quality and innovation, maintaining constant evolution to offer a unique experience to
each customer.

With the support of the entire family, in 2014, Gena Moner took over the management of the business. Thanks to her creative vision and passion for design, she enhanced Moner's own creations, bringing an innovative air that preserves the elegance and authenticity that define the brand to this day. With her creative direction, Moner continues to be a benchmark in high jewelry.

In 2024, Moner begins a new stage with a renewed visual identity and a strategy focused on expanding its elegance and tradition beyond Vilafranca.
With more than 150 years of history, the brand embarks on this new chapter with the aim of connecting with a global audience without losing the essence that makes it unique.
